I found this really easy mini skirt to make for your Blythe doll out of felt and this is my version of it. My girl, Margo, is modeling it and her doggie Chico waits patiently to go for a walk. I used a couple of snaps in the back instead of the velcro. Mine was sewn using just a needle and thread, no machine. As always, click a pic to see more detail. You can find the pattern HERE.
I also made a cute, little love seat tonight out of sponges, fabric, cardboard, and buttons using my glue gun and my sewing machine. I'll post a picture of it soon along with the youtube video that inspired me to try making one. It was one of those everything went perfect projects. I do sometimes have those.
A Picture Story...The day my 2010 Stock Neo Blythe - Simply Mango arrived with her super cute Chihuahua. I named her Margo and her Chi Chico after my Chihuahua. I'm way overdue for posting pics of this event. She arrived July 1, 2011.
I designed and started this "Ice Cream Dress" about a year ago, hit a roadblock and never finished it.
Either it was conquering and finishing the other dress or watching Fashion Star, that took me over the hump allowing me to just breeze right through it last night. BTW - I love that show!
I think the roadblock for a bit on each dress was how to neatly and effectively close the back. I found velcro worked for the first dress, but only tiny snaps would work and still look nice for this one.
My Neo Blythe Simply Mango and her little pet chihuahua are on their way to the USA to live at my house with me and my chihuahua, Chico. I haven't figured out what I want to name her yet.
For the longest time (a year or so) I've been researching Blythe dolls and dreaming of owning one (the 12" one), but the cost just put me off - UNTIL - this week when I saw this little cutie with her pet Chi. I have to say it was the chihuahua that sold me, but she's pretty cute too with her groovy orange hair. When I told hubby, he said, "Well of course you did..."
I gathered from all of my research she's a very good investment - so - she's my gift to myself for my birthday which is July 5th. I think it's just so cool how you can change the color and position of her eyes to several different colors/several different looks - a very unique doll.
Right now I'm creating and hand sewing some hats for the Littlest Pet Shop Blythes that have been for sale in the USA since last year. They each also have pets. These dolls are SO tiny, only 4-1/2" tall. I have one set of hats done though and designs and plans for others.
