Tonight I decided to make a dress for my girl, Margo in celebration of Memorial Day.
Margo hopes you all have a wonderful, fun Memorial Day holiday weekend.

Problems At The Blythe House
Margo just found out she needs reading glasses and CC suffers from --- we all have them --- the stretched out waistband panties syndrome.
Margo will be fine. Actually, she looks rather cute in her new, purple glasses, but it's back to the drawing board for me trying to make CC (A Blythe clone) some respectable panties.
I lost my new, vintage Skipper pattern piece for panties so I've been trying to design my own.

A funny Blythe story...
I have a funny Blythe story..
The other night I was struggling to finish sewing a dress from a pattern I'd never used before. It was one of those nights of sewing when I don't see how anyone sews things this little. Anyway, I was determined to get it done no matter what and in the end I was successful. It looked pretty good, and I also had notes to make the next dress sewn from this pattern go a bit more smoothly.
I was so proud of my achievement that I took my Blythe all dressed in her new dress to my bedroom and set her on my vanity so I could see her when I got up in the morning reminding me that even though I'd hit a snag or two I stuck with it and finished that dress.
My Chihuahua Chico didn't originally see me set her there, but when he did finally see her later that night in dim light he started growling and barking at her as if she was a real, little person.
It was so funny, even after I showed him she wasn't real he still wasn't so sure he wanted her watching him sleep.

Another New Dress For My Girl, Blythe
I designed and started this "Ice Cream Dress" about a year ago, hit a roadblock and never finished it.
Either it was conquering and finishing the other dress or watching Fashion Star, that took me over the hump allowing me to just breeze right through it last night. BTW - I love that show!
I think the roadblock for a bit on each dress was how to neatly and effectively close the back. I found velcro worked for the first dress, but only tiny snaps would work and still look nice for this one.

SHE'S HERE! My Girl is here...
She made it all the way here from Japan in only 3 days.
Of course I guess she should with shipping costing $31.00. I know...yikes. And, I had to sign for her (I was never notified about that!) which luckily worked out when normally I wouldn't even have seen or heard the mailman. It was just pure luck or I would have probably had to wait until Monday or Tuesday to go pick her up at the post office.
Apparently, one HAS to take pics of the delivery and unwrapping/unpacking of the doll especially if it's your first one. But, I doubt I'll ever get another Blythe since they aren't exactly cheap. But, I'm sure I'll want one... So anyway, I documented the event in pics (without asking the mailman to pose...*grin*), but I haven't even been to bed yet and it's past 2:00 in the afternoon so those pics will have to wait until another time.
UPDATE - Finally...
I found this cute, little doggie crate for her Chihuahua the other day at The Dollar Store that I thought would work great and it does - and only a $1.00!
I love them both...especially the fact that this Blythe comes with a little Chihuahua pet.

My Girl Is On Her Way...
My Neo Blythe Simply Mango and her little pet chihuahua are on their way to the USA to live at my house with me and my chihuahua, Chico. I haven't figured out what I want to name her yet.
For the longest time (a year or so) I've been researching Blythe dolls and dreaming of owning one (the 12" one), but the cost just put me off - UNTIL - this week when I saw this little cutie with her pet Chi. I have to say it was the chihuahua that sold me, but she's pretty cute too with her groovy orange hair. When I told hubby, he said, "Well of course you did..."
I gathered from all of my research she's a very good investment - so - she's my gift to myself for my birthday which is July 5th. I think it's just so cool how you can change the color and position of her eyes to several different colors/several different looks - a very unique doll.
Right now I'm creating and hand sewing some hats for the Littlest Pet Shop Blythes that have been for sale in the USA since last year. They each also have pets. These dolls are SO tiny, only 4-1/2" tall. I have one set of hats done though and designs and plans for others.
